Maria holds a BA in Drama and Creative Writing from the University of Greenwich and an MFA in Advanced Theatre Practice from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
She has been an active creator for almost fifteen years, working in both theatre and film as an actor, director, writer, designer, editor, and producer, picking up several awards along the way. Maria was also vice president of the Alberta Playwrights’ Network for two years.
Although life and work have taken Maria through several countries across two continents, strong roots keep her grounded. Born and raised in Brașov, Romania, this solid cultural core influences many aspects of her practice.
